The Chambersburg YMCA is seeking energetic, reliable Camp Counselors to provide a safe and memorable experience for the children of our community.
The ideal Camp Counselor will be flexible, patient, a good role model, and have a passion for working with and empowering children.
Some Camp Counselor responsibilities include:
* Ensure the supervision, safety and security of the children at all times.
* Plan for and facilitate activities for children.
* Supervise and engage on field trips and during all activities to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable.
* Mediate any conflicts between campers, encouraging positive, healthy relationships and interactions.
* Communicate with parents regarding activities and behaviors.
Some Camp Counselor skills include:
* Experience working with children preferred.
* Ability to relate well to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds.
* Ability to engage in physical activity (i.
e.
hiking, walking, and generally being mobile with the children).
* Applicants must obtain required clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, State Police Clearance, FBI Background Check).
