Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in monitoring and treating plant water supplies and handling the disposal of production waste products and recyclable materials.
Coordinates with outside contractors regarding work on water and grounds related areas.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal environmental regulations and acts as a liaison to Knouse Foods Environmental Staff.
Maintains adherence to all corporate safety policies and procedures.
Maintains employee time and attendance records and initiates personnel actions.
Coordinates training of new employees.
Conducts and attends regularly scheduled plant meetings.
Completes required reports and paperwork.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Responsible for safe and efficient supply of water to the production facilities and handling of production waste products.
2.
Coordinates water service technician’s schedules in plant.
3.
Responsible for understanding and performance of activities related to D.

permits and plans.
4.
Responsible for administration of plant recycling programs.
5.
Attends weekly supervisors’ meeting to review production problems and customer complaints and discuss corrective actions.
6.
Completes work order request forms and submits to Maintenance Manager for safety, production and improvement items related to water filters, U.
V.
lights, tractors, water softeners, pumps, solar field, Mount Orchard & Blue Ribbon well field, water meters, Lake Oyler, and Gardners wells.
7.
Coordinates with plant personnel department and other supervisors for manning of labor slots.
8.
Conducts new employee orientation to equipment, safety rules, Peach Glen & Gardners well fields, Lake Oyler, facility layout, personal protective gear requirements and safety data sheets.
9.
Coordinates with outside contractors for work related to lagoons, parking lots, railroad tracks, sewage lines and general plant excavation.
10.
Conducts monthly safety meetings to discuss safety issues and solicit employee questions and/or comments.
11.
Issues the required personal protective equipment and ensures proper usage.
12.
Prepares manufacturing budgets for assigned area.
*ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * 1.
Prepares end-of-season report for assigned area containing production improvement and cost saving suggestions.
2.
Responsible for clearing plant grounds of snow/ice during winter season and grass/weeds during spring and summer months.
3.
Attends regularly scheduled meetings for energy conservation, environmental, safety, and hazardous substance committees.
4.
Coordinates with corporate purchasing for chlorine.
5.
Provides Engineering department with production input regarding potential Capital Improvement Projects.
6.
Fills in, as required, for other supervisors.

*Essential knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience: * 1.
Bachelor’s degree (B.

) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
3.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
4.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily outside with some office work.
Requires driving locally and some travel to other plants or local vendors.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must possess valid motor vehicle operator’s license that is not under suspension or revocation and possess current automobile insurance coverage.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $50,000.
