Cashier

We currently have an opportunity available for a full-time cashier in our Chambersburg Surplus City store.
We are looking for a friendly, out-going person to work at the register and provide great customer service.
Customer Service Cashier Job Summary -The Cashier will use cash registers, electronic scanners and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.
Customer Service Cashier Job Responsibilities: Serves customers by providing information; responding to requests; resolving problems.
Customer Service Cashier Job Duties: Greet customers as they enter the location.
Itemizes and totals purchases by scanning every SKU on each item and collects payments by accepting cash, check or charge payments from customers; makes change for cash customers.
Assists customers in locating various products and answering questions and offering assistance.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators or scanners.
Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds, according to store policy.
Knowledge about the store products and services and customer-related policies.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Successful completion of job training period.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
May need to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
