Finance/Accounting Manager

Description: The Finance/Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for The Barn Resort and other lines of business under ownership.
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining all accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and the support of year-end audit preparation, budgets, and forecast activities.
The Accounting Manager will work closely with executive leadership, which requires strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
As the business grows and additional financial roles are added, those roles will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities: Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place to satisfy compliance with GAAP and all company financial policies and procedures.
Conduct thorough reviews and audits of financial statements.
Prepare forecasts and budgets.
Oversee financial operations including payroll and Accounts Payable.
Collaborate with other department managers to support the company's overall goals and objectives, including budget management.
Respond to inquiries from executive leadership and other department leaders in the organization regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and the like.
Work with executive leadership and outside accountants to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
Support executive leadership with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (BA/BS in Business/Accounting a plus).
5 years prior experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with finance software (knowledge of Quickbooks Enterprise a plus).
Knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel.
Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Experience in hospitality and/or retail is a plus.
