*\*Serious Applicants Only\** *Lead Teacher Job Description* We are looking to hire an attentive lead teacher to perform all duties necessary to ensure that children’s basic needs are taken care of in a nurturing environment.
The lead teacher’s responsibilities include feeding and grooming children, introducing children to new, age-appropriate activities and lessons, and sanitizing all toys and play areas.
You should also be able to identify and address behavioral problems.
We are looking for someone that is culturally competent and makes an effort to learn different family dynamics.
The applicant needs to be aware of various disabilities, disorders and conditions that may impact select children and their functioning in the classroom.
To be successful as a lead teacher, you should be able to maintain progress reports of all children under your care.
Ultimately, an exceptional lead teacher will cultivate a safe and loving environment that is conducive to growth and learning.
Hourly Rate: $12.
00 Status: Full-time, Part-time *Lead Teacher Responsibilities:* * Providing basic care for children which includes feeding, grooming, and changing diapers/training pants.
* Supervision of children, which also includes engagement with children.
* Planning and implementing daily program activities.
* Organizing and maintaining the classroom.
* Coordinating activities of other lead teachers and teacher assistants.
* Assisting the leadership team with designated activities.
* Developing age-appropriate socialization skills in children.
* Encouraging positive behavior and good manners.
* Using various learning methods such as stories, games and drawing to intellectually stimulate children.
* Identifying behavioral problems and developing appropriate strategies to address them.
* Attending staff meetings, professional development courses, and workshops.
* Holding regular parent-teacher meetings to address any issues, concerns, or parent complaints.
* Providing a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment.
* Communicating with parents and providing updates on children’s progress.
*Lead Teacher Requirements:* * A lead teacher shall have attained one of the following qualification levels: * (1) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
* (2) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
* (3) An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
* (4) An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
* (5)A high school diploma or general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
* (6) A high school diploma or general educational development certificate and 2 years of experience with children.
* Completion of clearances and certifications.
* Experience working as a lead teacher is a plus.
* In-depth understanding of childhood development.
* Strong conflict resolution skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Attentive and patient.
* Each lead teacher shall be employed by and be present at the facility for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
* Schedules will be between 6:30AM - 6PM, Monday through Friday, 20 to 40 hours a week depending on part-tie or full time.
There is the option of a split shift, if interested.
