be/rs3pQNy-9PI OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for providing legal counsel for ACNB Bank to ensure compliance with regulations and Bank policy, under the guidance and with the support of the General Counsel.
This important hybrid position develops strong working relationships with functional areas across the Bank, understands the business, and partners to provide sound legal guidance to help the Bank achieve its strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES: Advises on federal law and the state laws of Pennsylvania and Maryland and regulations affecting the operation the Bank, including federal and state banking law, lending and secured transactions, creditors’ rights/loan workout, consumer compliance regulations, bank deposit account issues, vendor contracts, uniform commercial code and other payment systems frameworks, employment law, real estate law, trusts and estates, and litigation; Conducts appropriate legal research in response to legal inquiries; Provides timely legal advice and counsel to officers and employees of the Bank and its affiliates in support of the Bank’s operations and business; Assists in supporting the Bank’s strategic objectives by supporting the evaluation, risk assessment, negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of vendor agreements or other projects that involve third parties; Participates in project tasks forces or other committees as assigned the General Counsel; Acts as the representative of the Bank in real estate transactions, litigation, legislative and regulatory hearings, and other related areas, as assigned by the General Counsel; Assists with or performs day to day legal work required for the Bank’s operations, including responding to garnishments or subpoenas; preparing lease agreements and amendments; preparing banking forms or templates; advising bank department partners on policies, procedures or programs, etc.
; Provides legal advice and representation to ACNB Bank’s insurance agency affiliate, ACNB Insurance Services, Inc.
, with respect to its operations, employment and insurance producer agreements, real estate matters, and book of business acquisitions; Stays current and informed as to applicable legislation, regulations and other legal developments affecting the operation of the Bank and its affiliates, and informs appropriate employees of the Bank of relevant new and amended legislation and regulations; and, Works effectively with auditors, regulators, outside legal counsel, and other outside parties in order to promote the Bank’s and its affiliate’s business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS Required: J.

degree from an accredited U.
S.
law school and licensed to the Bar of Pennsylvania, or licensed to the Bar of Maryland with a willingness to promptly obtain a Pennsylvania license through reciprocity; A minimum of three years of related experience required (not including clerkships); Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization; Ability to articulate balanced perspective, balance legal considerations with practical business needs, and influence others in positive manner; Demonstrated attention to detail; and, Strong organizational skills.
Preferred: Experience working as an in-house lawyer for a bank, credit union, or other company in the financial services industry, or in private practice focusing on advising financial institutions; and, Experience and knowledge regarding secured commercial lending (including real property collateral, loan title insurance, UCC Article 9, and property insurance issues), deposit account issues, and/or financial institution regulatory compliance.
LOCATION: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, with hybrid schedule permitted.
